The University of Padua, founded in 1222 and ranked as the first large Italian University for the quality of its research results (ANVUR VQR 2004-2010 and 2011-2014), is one of the most important higher education institution in Italy with more than 60.000 students.
At the School of Engineering, the Precision Manufacturing Engineering research group includes the Laboratory of Industrial and Geometrical Metrology, which has international reputation for research in surface and coordinate metrology, including computed tomography. The University has a long track record in training, providing several undergraduate and graduate courses in Manufacturing Engineering, including Manufacturing Metrology. Some parts of the courses are delivered using eLearning-based concepts.
